General policies

Upon entering the Spanish Program for Foreign Students at UPB - ESPEX, you accept the following general conditions:

1. You should register for a minimum of 20 class hours, understanding that an 'academic' hour of class corresponds to 50 minutes of student-teacher contact (not 60 minutes).

2. In the case of not being able to attend a class, you should notify the coordinator with one day in advance; failing to do so will result in not being able to have it replaced. A tutor* can always be made available for special cases. (*A tutor is a regular student at our School of Education and Pedagogy).

3. Attending 80% of the course will allow you to get a certificate of attendance (delivered on demand). However, if you fail to attend the 30% of the course without a valid reason and without notification to the coordinator, the University will report the competent authorities of your unattendance to class.

4. Refund:

The UPB will refund 100% of the value of the course only in the three following cases:

a. When the University has been responsible for the cancellation of the course.

b. When the student reports in writing on the impossibility to attend the course at least one (1) day before it starts. In this case, the UPB will apply the current retention for administrative expenses.

c. When the student has not been granted a visa allowing him to study in the country.

The UPB will refund 90% of the value of the course only in the following case:

When the student reports in writing on the impossibility to attend the course before elapsing 10% of it. This value will be recognized by means of credit notes applicable to any of the services of the University. In no case a money refund will be done.
